Mostly Modern Orchestra (MMO) is the house orchestra for the Mostly Modern Festival | The Netherlands. The European version of MMO had its inaugural season in 2022 to packed houses at the Zeeuwse Concertzaal in Middelburg, Zeeland. MMO’s mission is to celebrate living composers and modern music with an emphasis on Dutch, American, and composers from across the globe. The roster comprises an international confluence of musicians from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, England, and the United States.

Robert Paterson is the conductor and house composer of MMO NL. Guest conductors in the USA have included maestros David Amado (Delaware Symphony), Peter Bay (Austin Symphony Orchestra), JoAnn Falletta (Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Cleveland Institute of Music), Alan Pierson (Alarm Will Sound), Ruth Reinhardt (Assoc. Dallas Symphony), Christopher Rountree (WildUp), Ward Stare (Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra), Scott Terrell (LSU), Kent Tritle (Musica Sacra, Oratorio Society of New York).

 
 

Mostly Modern Ensemble (MME) is the sister ensemble of American Modern Ensemble in the U.S. It consists of an elite group of musicians from Europe and the U.S., including The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, and England. The mission of MME is to mission is to celebrate living composers and modern music with an emphasis on Dutch, American, and composers from across the globe. The ensemble consists of mixed instrumentation, and programs typically include works for up to six performers, and include single strings, brass, winds, percussion, and keyboard.
